Agents of Change II

by John Stubbs 1. December 2009 13:31
November 10th saw our second installment of “Agents of Change: A Philanthroparty for the United Way” at Pravda Vodka Bar. The concept behind the event was to get Scotiabankers in their 20s and 30s out to a social event themed around the United Way. Over 300 people attended the event and got to network with colleagues representing all business lines within the Bank. What was most impactful was the story of a young professional named Dennis and how Epilepsy had changed his life. Dennis shared his story with the group of his peers and spoke about how a United Way sponsored agency helped him regain the direction he wanted in his life. It was a sobering reminder of how quickly each of us can find ourselves on the receiving-end of the United Way’s support and giving back not only helps us, but it helps people just like us everyday. The night was a tremendous success and we look forward to planning next years Agents of Change III!
