Lots of times our usual routines are more relaxed in the Summer - more patio time, less structured time. It's great! But for those that need a helping hand, the summer is just like any other season. That's why the United Way GenNext GiveADamn Day came at such an opportune time!
Saturday, June 13, 2009 was a day of community caring and action. GenNext deployed volunteers to five different community agencies to assist with typical - and not so typical - daytime activities. We helped out with lunches, hosting barbeques and assisting with garden planting throughout the City - all in the name of engaging with the community agencies in our neighbourhoods.
After all these good works, we connected with other Community Engagers at Pravda Vodka Bar on Wellington to share the stories of our day and hear about the other agencies - and of course to connect and meet other GenNexters!
