Facilitator for Cash Register Training
Have you got experience in training people on how to use a cash register? Do you know someone who works in the cash register industry who can help us out? JVS Toronto is looking for people who can train people in a new skill to help them get a job in the retail industry. They are looking for someone (or a team of two) who can commit for a year to teach 2 days a month alternating between JVS’s York and Scarborough locations (Dufferin & Lawrence, and a Scarborough location to be determined).
Member of Volunteer & Student Advisory Committees
JVS Toronto (Dufferin & Lawrence) is looking for people to sit on their newly formed Advisory Committee to help form programs and directions to support their Volunteer and Student groups. Previous volunteer coordination experience and/or a background in HR would be wonderful. They will hold 4 meetings a year in the evening with correspondence and tasks assigned between meetings.
Literacy Tutors
JVS Toronto (Dufferin and Lawrence) is looking for caring individuals with a teaching background who can support a tutoring program for youth at risk in Math and English. They need people who can commit to 2-3 hours a week for 6 months. Timing is flexible and can be either days or evenings. Put your background in education to good use by making a big impact on someone who needs you!
For all of these opportunities, please contact the Professional Volunteer Group at comvol@uwgt.org and for more information and to offer your help.
